Overview
- This posting is open to current Larimer County employees with a preference given to employees within the Clerk and Recorder's Office.
Performs complex and specialized tasks unique to vehicle licensing and customer services work within the Clerk and Recorder's Office. Operates as a liaison between Larimer County and the State of Colorado to assist with the maintenance of the Vehicle Licensing System.
The typical schedule for this position rotates 8-hour shifts between 7:45 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. Monday-Friday, plus occasional weekend work.To be considered for this position, please attach a cover letter and resume to your application. Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Exercises indirect supervision of assigned staff.
- Provides lead accountability for other staff within the work unit, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work, instructing/training in work methods, and providing input into hiring and performance evaluation processes.
- In the absence of a location supervisor, assumes responsibility for office opening and closing, overall office security, safe combinations, scheduling of staff, resolution of technical issues, and other duties as needed and assigned.
- Represents Larimer County with testing system functionality.
- Assists with new hires and ongoing training of staff members.
- Assists in analyzing, developing, reviewing, and updating internal processes and training materials.
- Identifies issues and provides potential solutions regarding Vehicle Licensing operations to assist management in developing policies or new procedures for more efficient operations.
- Enforces the Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 1994 and Personal Identifiable Information established by Colorado and Federal Statutes.
What we're looking for:- Have knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Routine software and business applications including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Have regular, predictable attendance.
- Perform duties independently without close supervision
- Multi-tasking skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- Six (6) months performing the functions of a Vehicle Licensing Specialist required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required.
- Commission as a Notary Public within six (6) months of hire required.
- Possession of a Forklift Certification within one (1) year of hire required (Fort Collins location only).
