Job Description
has been providing exceptional care to its small animal patients for over 30 years. During that time, we have developed an experienced staff and family culture that retains team members and also keeps our clients coming back. Not only do we have a large returning, diverse client base, we see high volumes of patients, many of which are covered under insurance plans. We have a large boarding, daycare, and grooming facility. We focus on providing a high level of medicine, building lasting relationships, and to uphold our Mission: Owl Creek exists to preserve, celebrate, and protect the human animal bond.

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Owl Creek Veterinary Hospital are offered to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.

Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Click to view list of stipend amounts and  for details on the stipend program.
