Veterinary Surgeon (Residency-Trained or Board-Certified)
Southern Rockies Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital – Colorado Springs, CO
Salary: $220,000–$280,000 + Sign-On Bonus + Relocation Support
Southern Rockies Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital (SRAESH) in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained veterinary surgeon to join our fast-paced and highly collaborative team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a ready-to-go surgical caseload built by our exceptionally busy, 24/7 emergency department. With no competing specialties on-site and a committed referral base already in place, this role is ideal for a surgeon eager to make an immediate and meaningful impact.
What You’ll Find at Southern Rockies:
3 fully equipped ORs, including new surgical lights, C-arm (GE 256), newer CT, and digital radiography
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) capabilities, standard endoscope, nitrogen drill
Turn-key caseload fed by a robust ER that sees a high volume of surgical cases
On-call support structure: our capable ER doctors are trained and willing to take cases, so you're not on call 24/7
Strong internal culture with tenured staff (10–15 years) and a history of promoting from within
Supportive mentorship network available across Colorado, including potential collaboration with other local hospitals
Fun, client-focused culture, including community events like pet photos with Santa
What We’re Looking For:
Residency-trained or board-certified veterinary surgeon (ACVS or equivalent)
Comfortable with a mix of soft tissue and orthopedic cases
A desire to build and shape the surgery service within a growing hospital
Team-first attitude and enthusiasm for supporting ER and future specialty colleagues (we’re currently interviewing neurologists)
Compensation & Perks:
Competitive base salary: $220,000–$280,000, depending on experience and qualifications
Generous sign-on bonus and relocation support
Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), CE allowance, and more
Why Colorado Springs?
Living in Colorado Springs means access to the best of Colorado — world-class hiking, skiing, and biking are just minutes away. Enjoy a high quality of life, affordable cost of living compared to other Colorado cities, and over 300 days of sunshine each year. Whether you're an outdoor adventurer or prefer a peaceful mountain view from your porch, Colorado Springs offers a lifestyle that’s hard to beat.
If you're ready to step into a well-supported, high-impact surgical role with outstanding ER collaboration and a built-in referral base, we want to hear from you.
