Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Manage, operate, and maintain Aldar datacentre facilities, Network, IP Telephony, and security operations to ensure maximum uptime for users
 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage & monitor all datacentre’s facilities including access control, security, disaster recovery

Liaise with the Facilities Department to ensure high availability and performance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the datacentre

Propose standards, tools, policies, and procedures pertaining to the datacentre facility management

Manage the datacentre facilities to ensure support on 24x7 basis

Develop new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks, Firewall, and IP Telephony

Manage network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting

Design, manage and control Inorganic growth, Integration, Cloud migration and critical projects

Monitor, analyse, and proactively respond to trends and issues related to infrastructure

Oversee complex and non-routine problems and identify resolution using a range of problem-solving techniques and computational methods

Escalate issues that exceed his capability, knowledge, or experience, including external referral, to ensure effective and timely resolution

Review, research, recommend, and implement cost effective products, systems, and services in cooperation with vendors (when necessary)

Liaise with the System administrations Team to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot components of the network system

Organize and attend to Disaster Recovery initiatives and drills

Prepare Risk Assessment (Identify relevant assets, analyse threats to assets, identify and classify vulnerabilities and evaluate and estimate risk) from a DC / DR facilities perspective

Support in defining the IT Service Continuity Strategy (Prevention measures, recovery options, etc.) from a DC / DR facilities perspective

Monitor and resolve day to day network, IP telephony and security issues

Work with the IT technical staff and assist in definition of appropriate service level in support of network, IP telephony, security, and datacentre operations to ensure that deployed solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle

Provide ongoing feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention

Report network status to key stakeholders

 

RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Min of 10+ years in Information Technology in IT Service Delivery/Management

 

YOE IN MANAGERIAL POSITION

Min of 2+ years in the management of IT Infrastructure in a large organization

 

FIELD OF EXPERIENCE

Managing complex technology systems in process driven, customer centric industries and enterprise environment.

Experience with VMWare ESX is preferred

 

TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Strong understanding of network infrastructure components and concepts

Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows and Linux server management and networking

Experience with Cisco IP Telephony systems

Experience working directly with Juniper/Aruba/Cisco routers, switches and wireless is required

Experience with call centres and ACD call flow is required

Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills

 

QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Systems Engineering
