We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Non-Financial Risk (Issuer Services Operations).
Issuer Services (ISV) forms part of Markets and Security Services Operations (MSS Ops). Issuer Services provides a broad range of administrative services on syndicated loans, escrows, debt issuance and bond servicing.
Role Purpose
A Non-Financial Risk (NFR) role accountable to the Regional Head, Issuer Services Operations, US.
The role is tasked with running the US Issuer Services Line Control function, which is a risk and control function within ISV Operations that is primarily responsible for improving and strengthening the overall business’s control environment. Operations Line Control is a global function that works closely with a network of markets and GBMC sites, Change, Product and Client Management in ensuring that our risks are being managed within risk appetite and provides ongoing assurance as to the adequacy and operation of key controls. The function ensures adherence to internal control policies, develops and delivers communications, learning and education initiatives that deepen control culture, raises awareness of risks and promotes control best practices.
Key accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain effective governance mechanisms for risk and control management within the business
- Provide guidance on the development of relevant policies and control best practices using specialist product knowledge
- Implementat / delivery process and control improvements without impacting on business as usual processes
- Perform Continuous Control Monitoring on behalf of US Issuer Services across sites to provide assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of key controls
- Maintain Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
- Represent Issuer Services risk and control across the business through proactive key stakeholder engagement at all level of the organization
- To perform value-add risk analysis and scoring for presentation to senior management forums, with agreed remediation plans defined and tracked to closure.
- Partner with line management to reduce operational losses and the incidence of high/medium risk audit points
- To perform Incident management, risk assessments and other initiatives and any required remediation
- Work to the agreed Global agenda and meet all delivery requirements
- Promote a positive control culture across the organization
- To perform Project management experience with the ability to lead working groups and project teams
- Partner with business management to continually improve our operational risk control processes and mitigate risks in our business operating models
- Focus on delivering results, positively challenges the status quo, seeks improvement and is resilient in meeting targets
- Manage disparate stakeholders, build consensus, and implement effective business solutions on a global basis.
- Manage relationships and coordinate / leverage other teams outside of Issuer Services Operations such as CCO, Finance, Operational Risk and Internal and external Audit
- Partner with line management to reduce operational losses and the incidence of high/medium risk audit points
- Plan and progress reporting against agreed initiatives
- Collaborate with Country Heads and Regional Heads to ensure all markets operate in line with Group Standards, best practice, and market conduct
- Promote and imbed Global standards, good market conduct and financial crime risk management across the Issuer Services Network with a relentless drive to ensure that we operate within the principles and sprit of our obligations and regulation
Qualifications/experience
- Relevant and comparable experience managing/leading a risk/operations function
- Proven skills and knowledge of post trade operations functions / working knowledge of Issuer Services as a product and/or operational risk awareness for either/both Corporate Trust and Loan Agency
- Solid process, risk and people management skills
- Pro-active problem solving attitude and ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and proven track record of managing and influencing multiple stakeholders across countries and sites
- Analytical and detail orientated
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and clearly
- Strong delivery focus is essential. The role requires a proactive and articulate individual, comfortable with dealing with senior management and able to distil key messages and tailor output to the audience
