Summary:

The Vice President, Operations, Physician Enterprise, serves as the senior operational leader for the Physician Enterprise and the primary execution partner to the Senior Vice President, Physician Enterprise. This role provides enterprise-wide oversight and day-to-day operational leadership across a multi-site ambulatory platform, supporting care delivery across inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsible for driving consistent operational performance through a disciplined operating model, standardization, and multi-site leadership, while partnering closely with physician and clinical leaders to improve access, patient flow, quality, patient experience, and financial outcomes.

This role is accountable for achieving sustained improvement in access and patient flow performance across the Physician Enterprise, with a focus on reducing operational variation across clinics and regions. Success will be evidenced by increased consistency in operational performance and the development of strong, capable leaders across System Operations Directors and practice managers.

This role is also responsible for improving key operational drivers of financial performance, including productivity, cost-to-serve, and the reduction of avoidable rework and denials. This includes establishing and maintaining a disciplined operating cadence supported by transparent performance dashboards, timely issue identification, and reliable execution across all sites.

Ensures the successful operational delivery of enterprise growth and transformation initiatives, including provider onboarding, practice expansions, integrations, and major workflow or EHR changes, with a focus on efficient implementation and long-term sustainability across the enterprise.


Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree required (healthcare administration, business, or related)
  • Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, or similar) required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including significant multi-site ambulatory/physician practice operations leadership
  • Demonstrated success improving access and operational performance through standardization, analytics, and sustained execution across multiple sites
  • Demonstrated experience with physician contracting, provider compensation, and benefit structures
  • Demonstrated experience managing performance tied to a P&L or operating budget
  • Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent operational excellence training/certification preferred
  • Experience in a health system-owned physician enterprise across primary care and specialty practices preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading through influence with centralized access/contact center functions preferred
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen preferred
