    Secondary Online Teacher (Grades 6�12)

    Position Purpose
    Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Secondary Online Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in one or more subject areas to students in a virtual environment. The teacher fosters academic growth, student engagement, and digital citizenship through an interactive, supportive, and standards-based online learning experience.

    Essential Performance Responsibilities

    • Develops and implements curriculum aligned with Idaho State Standards and district goals for online secondary education.
    • Creates and delivers engaging virtual lessons using digital tools, multimedia resources, and learning management systems.
    • Promotes a safe and inclusive online learning environment that supports collaboration, individualized learning, and academic success.
    • Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, or English language development needs.
    • Uses a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
    • Maintains regular, proactive communication with students and families to support academic performance, engagement, and well-being.
    • Provides timely feedback and grading, and maintains accurate records in accordance with district procedures and legal requirements.
    • Participates in professional development and stays current on instructional best practices, educational technology, and trends in online education.
    • Supports student behavior and digital etiquette consistent with school policies and the online learning code of conduct.
    • Collaborates with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to ensure student success and contribute to a positive virtual school culture.
    • Attends virtual staff meetings, trainings, and other required events.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or district leadership.

    • Minimal; occasional travel to district buildings or professional development sessions as required.

    Qualifications Profile

    Certification/License:

    • Idaho State Certification for secondary education in the appropriate subject area (Grades 6�12).

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field required.
    • Master's degree preferred.

    Experience:

    • Prior successful teaching experience preferred, particularly in online or hybrid learning environments.
