REPORTS TO:                     DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Job Description & Duties:

The Warehouse Assistant Manager assists in overseeing warehouse, inventory, shipping, and logistics operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of finished goods. This position provides leadership to warehouse personnel, supports inventory accuracy and customer requirements, and helps maintain compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards. The Warehouse Assistant Manager serves as a key resource within the Warehouse Department and acts on behalf of the Director of Supply Chain Management as needed. This list is not all inclusive, and job duties can be added as needed.

  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
    • Maintain awareness of warehouse traffic, forklifts, clamp trucks, trailers, and pedestrian hazards.
    • Monitor compliance with daily equipment inspections, dock safety procedures, trailer restraint systems, and loading practices.
    • Ensure employees follow all warehouse, shipping, and inventory control procedures.
    • Maintain safe housekeeping standards throughout warehouse and loading areas.
    • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action activities.
    • Support safety training initiatives and reinforce a culture of workplace safety.
    • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company policies, and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Quality & Inventory Control:
    • Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory audits.
    • Maintain warehouse bin assignment programs and warehouse storage systems.
    • Monitor inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies.
    • Coordinate inventory transfer activities in accordance with Quality requirements.
    • Support internal audits, customer audits, and financial inventory audits.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
    • Ensure proper storage and handling of finished goods to maintain product quality.
    • Review inventory reports and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
    • Assist with developing and improving inventory control processes.
  • Production & Logistics Coordination:
    • Coordinate daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient movement of finished goods.
    • Schedule carriers and coordinate outbound shipments.
    • Maintain transportation records and freight rate information.
    • Work closely with Production, Customer Service, and Warehouse personnel to meet customer requirements.
    • Monitor warehouse capacity and storage utilization.
    • Assist with transportation planning and logistics scheduling.
    • Generate and review shipping documentation, bills of lading, and customer invoices.
    • Coordinate customer pickups and carrier scheduling.
    • Communicate shipment status and shipping priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support uninterrupted production flow through effective inventory and warehouse management.
  • Leadership & Administrative Support:
    • Assist in supervising warehouse personnel, assigning daily work responsibilities, and monitoring employee performance.
    • Participate in hiring, interviewing, and employee training. 
    • Create and maintain department work schedules.
    • Approve employee timecards and attendance records.
    • Assist with performance evaluations and employee development plans.
    • Serve as backup for the Director of Supply Chain Management during absences.
