AKDO is a leading importer and distributor of luxury natural stone, porcelain, ceramic tile, and architectural surfacing materials. We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Warehouse Associate to join our team and support daily warehouse operations.

Position Summary

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for order fulfillment, shipping preparation, material handling, and maintaining an organized warehouse environment. This role ensures customer orders are accurately picked, packed, staged, and loaded while supporting overall warehouse efficiency and safety.

Essential Responsibilities

Order Fulfillment & Shipping

  • Read pick tickets and accurately locate materials for customer orders
  • Pick, assemble, and prepare orders for shipment using the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Perform pre-shipment inspections to verify order accuracy and product quality
  • Stage materials and prepare shipments for delivery or customer pickup
  • Load trucks safely and efficiently while protecting product quality
  • Coordinate customer pickups and outbound shipments

Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Return materials to inventory and ensure products are stored in proper locations
  • Assist with warehouse organization and inventory movement
  • Support facility maintenance activities, including general housekeeping and outdoor cleaning as needed

Material Handling

  • Assist in moving slabs and other materials for customer viewing and shipment
  • Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment
  • Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards to management

Safety & Compliance

  • Complete all required equipment and safety training
  • Follow all AKDO safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 months of warehouse, shipping, fulfillment, or related experience
  • Ability to read and interpret pick tickets, packing lists, safety procedures, and operating instructions
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays as needed

Preferred

  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other material-handling equipment
  • Experience in a warehouse, distribution center, building materials, or logistics environment

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, move, push, pull, and handle materials throughout the warehouse
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Work safely around heavy materials and warehouse equipment
