Job Description

RQ Construction is a leading Design-Build contractor specializing in fast-track commercial and government construction projects throughout the United States. We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Associate to support operations at our Jacksonville, NC Logistics Facility.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in warehouse operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, inventory management, forklift operation, construction logistics, or distribution center environments. The successful candidate will help ensure materials, equipment, and supplies are received, tracked, organized, and delivered efficiently to support construction projects across the Southeast.

What You'll Do

Warehouse & Yard Operations

  • Safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, company trucks, trailers, and other material handling equipment.
  • Receive, inspect, unload, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, flat racks, and other transport equipment.
  • Store, organize, stage, and distribute materials throughout the warehouse and yard.
  • Assist with deliveries, pickups, and transportation using company vehicles and trailers.
  • Maintain inventory locations and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain warehouse and yard cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Perform facility maintenance, housekeeping, painting, grounds maintenance, and minor repairs.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Support warehouse projects, equipment moves, and operational requirements.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Inventory & Administrative Support

  • Maintain inventory records and material tracking information.
  • Complete receiving, delivery, equipment, and inventory documentation.
  • Assist with warehouse reporting and record retention requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse, logistics, shipping and receiving, material handling, construction yard, or distribution center environment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, or other material handling equipment.
  • Experience loading, unloading, and securing materials on trucks and trailers.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, material tracking, and warehouse documentation.
  • Experience operating company vehicles and towing trailers preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted schedules as business needs require.
