Job Description

South Central Power Company, is seeking an individual to fill the position of Warehouse Manager at our Lancaster office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse and yard facilities across our 3 offices – Lancaster, Hillsboro and Barnesville. This role ensures the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of materials and equipment that support our electric distribution and transmission system. The position also plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory, supporting field operations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and RUS requirements.

This position will directly oversee the activities of five (5) Warehouse Workers as well as the Warehouse Coordinator. The Warehouse Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will work out of the main office headquartered in Lancaster, Ohio.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage day-to-day operations across multiple warehouse and storage locations, ensuring efficient material flow and facility organization.
  • Partner with various departments to support work planning, resolve material/inventory discrepancies and stage and deliver materials for construction crews and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee cycle counts and annual physical inventories, and monitor stock levels and usage trends.
  • Inspect incoming materials for accuracy and condition while ensuring adherence to RUS standards and safety requirements.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies to improve warehouse performance, accuracy, and service levels.
  • Supervise and develop warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Monitor key inventory metrics, provide regular reporting, and support budgeting and long-term planning for warehouse operations.

 

What the job requires

  • Candidates should have experience in supervision – leading and motivating teams and strong project management abilities.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally to aide in facilitating discussions among other cooperative personnel and vendors to consistently meet deadlines and work within budgetary limitations.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in utility warehousing, inventory control, line work, engineering/construction layout, and/or work order/plant accounting.
  • A high school diploma is required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field is preferred.
