Job Status: Full-Time 

Travel Required: 0-10%

Reports To: Production Supervisor


PURPOSE OF POSITION

Track warehouse inventory, transfers, shipments, and incoming freight. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

 

More specifically, the person will:

  • Unload incoming materials, including but not limited to UPS, FedEx, flatbed trucks, freight trucks, and RGA’s.
  • Organize orders for truck lines in the specified areas; load/unload transfer trucks and common carriers as needed. 
  • Maintain order and neatness by properly storing components and products without transit damage.
  • Ensure all parts and components are accurate according to specifications.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, hoist, crane or forklift.
  • Move components between production area, shipping, and warehouse.
  • Communicate and assist with purchasing and inventory control on a regular basis (i.e., perform cycle counts, create part numbers/bin locations, evaluate inventory usage, etc.).
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks for the forklift (i.e., visual inspection of forklift, etc.) and report non-routine repairs to maintenance personnel.
  • Use and understand various paperwork, including but not limited to schedules, prints, & tech standards.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments within the work area.
  • Regular, consistent attendance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong commitment to quality and working safely.
  • Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.). 
  • Ability to work independently or as a team with minimal supervision. 
  • Possess strong computer skills and the ability to learn special software as required to completed responsibilities.
  • Understand and utilize proper shipping documents (i.e., orders, bills of lading, packings slips, etc.).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments and/or facilities.

 

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

 

  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); 
  • or one to three months related experience and/or training; 
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.


TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES 

 

  • Forklift license
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee:

  • Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.
  • Must be able to regularly use hands and arms.
  • Must be able to regularly stand and walk. 
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of equipment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds of equipment with assist available. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY


  • The noise level in the work environment is usually LOUD.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat (non-weather). 
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection required where posted. Seatbelt required while operating the forklift. Additional PPE may be required when working in other areas.
