Warehouse Supervisor
Great Plains Parts - Salina, KS
Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for the Great Plains Parts Department in Salina, KS. This role supervises incoming and outgoing shipments and the activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products by use of conveyors, cranes, hoists, or industrial trucks.
This is an hourly position that reports to the Parts Operations Manager and is based in the Great Plains Parts building (S3) in Salina, KS. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus overtime, as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise incoming and outgoing movement of service parts; maintain inventory accuracy through Cycle Counting; monitor available warehouse space and recommend measures to better utilize available space; maintain records to meet material handling requirements to ensure quality and accuracy of parts shipments and inventory transactions.
- Monitor material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or contact outside service facility for repair.
- Supervise the processing of Return Goods for accuracy and timely reporting to Accounts Payable for dealer credit.
- Recommend measures to improve warehouse processes for Pick/Pack/Ship methods.
- Report changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of warehouse operations to department manager.
- Monitor warehouse KPI’s and communicates performance to warehouse staff, recommends measures to improve performance to department manager
- Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.
- Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Work to provide a clean and safe work environment guided by 6S principles.
- Create Standard of Work for warehouse processes and communicate to warehouse staff.
- Monitor Time and Attendance for warehouse staff and address any issues according to Company Attendance Policy.
- Monitor performance of warehouse staff and address any issues with employees and their immediate supervisor.
- Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require additional qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; minimum 2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High level of proficiency in Excel and AS400 required; working knowledge of PowerPoint strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Must be able to communicate company news, team performance, and safety topics in a group setting
- Must be able to manage all facets of parts warehousing, including shipping, receiving, inventory control and safety compliance.
- Must be a strong servant leader, capable of directing a staff of between 35-45 employees
