Job Description: 


The Warehouse Worker will be responsible for breaking down pallets, gaylords, carts, and bins of electronic assets; separating them into their commodity areas. This is a labor-intensive position lifting printers, computers, servers, etc. from Receiving and moving them to the next step in the recycling process. 


Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years’ work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing facility, be able to lift at least a minimum of 50 lbs., and must be punctual. 


Responsibilities: 


  • Manual palletizing of equipment.
  • Unpack and assess incoming assets for possible resale or recycling and move assets through our production process with both care and speed.
  • May require use of computers, emails, scanners, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Organize the warehouse space, including sweeping and recycling/trash removal. 
  •  Assist other warehouse staff as needed.
  • Unpack, prepare and sort materials or products for recycling, resale or destruction.
  • Shred electronic material.
  • Track inventory and perform inventory counts. 
  • Prepare, pack, and ship items sold via resale channels. 
  • Clean recycling areas by sweeping,  or picking up various types of debris including metal, dirt, and trash. 
  • Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles. 
  • Assist with light refurbishing of devices.
  • Flex into other job roles from time-to-time as production demands dictate.


While not sorting/ material handling, warehouse workers  will be expected to flex into the position of Box truck driver  in addition to working in the warehouse and assisting with all production processes, including but not limited to: 


The Box Truck Driver is expected to be an enthusiastic individual who is extremely customer service oriented to make deliveries and pick-ups in our 26' box truck equipped with lift gates. Drivers are required to remove electronics from businesses and organizations. This position is labor intensive and supports the warehouse production team when not driving or on the road. 


Our ideal candidate is not afraid of working hard on a daily basis. The Box Truck Driver will go to our customer sites to prep and pack the equipment. Our driver will be expected to do the “heavy lifting” for the customer. Driving experience is required. 


Responsibilities:


  • Driver loads/unloads assigned truck and prepares for the route for that day.
  • Drive the route based on information provided from the warehouse manager.
  • Locate material at the pick-up site. Pack material (palletize, wrap, and/or load into gaylord boxes). Load material onto the truck.
  • Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Ensures that the box truck is fully equipped and in proper working condition prior to departure and after arrival, conducting pre- and post-checks.
  • Leads and assists driver’s assistants with removal and stacking of electronics at a customer location.
  • Ensures the security and safety of material and data through the full transportation cycle including customer prep, packaging and pickup, loading, transportation, delivery, and warehouse unloading while following all proper procedures and appropriate use of all required equipment and security devices e.g. padlocks, etc.
  • Ensures client’s needs are met in a professional and courteous manner; i.e. calling clients ahead of schedule to let them know when you will arrive, etc.
  • Complete all related paperwork.


Required skills include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing facility  
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • 2-5 years’ experience required


Additional Proficiencies: 


  • Frequent use of hand and air tools to dismantle electronics, which require frequent use of hands, wrists, elbows, upper arm and shoulders.
  • Ability to work in hot/humid/cold climates.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to push/pull 1000 pounds using a pallet jack.
  • Must use and /or wear required safety equipment at all times.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, grease, oil, metals, wet/hot conditions, & noise throughout the shift.
  • Catalog and organize incoming and outgoing technology for the NERDiT Recycles team.
  • Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques.
  • An analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Document daily deliveries and shipments to update inventory.
  • Recruit and train new employees.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
