POSITION OVERVIEW: The Wash Tank position supports both production and quality needs through washing material for jobs and inspection of production. This position operates a forklift to retrieve and move products; is responsible for washing and inspecting products; maintains wash tanks; tests and monitors chemical levels; completes all applicable paperwork and works with Hazardous Waste procedures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Operate wash tanks and operate wash system.
- Set up and operate assigned machines to produce cleaned products to lines. Includes evaluating wash tanks to ensure the proper level of chemicals.
- Clean tanks when scheduled and when needed.
- Follow Hazardous Waste procedures.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other special equipment within the department.
- Clean and inspect parts.
- Keep CES/2010 pack schedule and make sure parts get out on time.
- Perform pack and other operations 2010 pack.
- Weld certified operators may also be scheduled to work in weld areas.
- Complete proper paperwork per station.
- Keep work area safe and clean (6S: Safety, Sort, Straighten, Shines, Standardize, Sustain)
- Responsible for quality workmanship that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.
- Perform all other duties as directed by supervisor(s).
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Most acquire and maintain forklift certification. (training provided)
- Must acquire and maintain chemical training certification. (training provided)
- Must acquire and maintain Tank Cleaning certification (training provided)
- Must acquire and maintain Crane Operator Certification (training provided)
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Ability to safely operate wash tank system.
- Ability to safely use wash tank chemicals.
- Ability to safely clean wash tanks.
- Ability to safely operate the crane system.
- Ability to use a Scan Gun.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to read, understand, and comply with instructions.
- Ability to follow all PPE requirements (ex: face shield required)
- Ability to read blueprints, job sheets, safety instructions, etc.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Detail-oriented.
- Good problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally sit, frequently stand and walk.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25#; occasionally push and pull up to 25#
- Frequently bend, turn, twist.
- Frequently reach, operate forklift, and fine hand/eye coordination
- Occasional use of computer/keyboard, stoop/bend, crouch and squat
- Stand up to 10 hours per shift.
