A Water & Wastewater Mechanical Estimator will report directly to the Foreman (Finish) to complete the finish tasks of multiple types of projects from Prefabricated Precast Concrete Buildings to Prefabricated Pump Stations and will operate with the highest ethical standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid the bidding process
- Perform process piping take-offs from engineered drawings at various levels of design completion
- Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates
- Prepare detailed proposals for each project
- Participate in scope review(s) and provide recommendations after award
- Meet critical project deadlines and coordinate work with other team members
- Work with the Design team in preparing detailed shop drawings
- Provide submittal package (data) to the Project Management team for issuance and review shop drawings submittal packages and make corrections as necessary
- Work with the team in providing recommendations to improve our present design flow and systems
- Working closely with customers and/or clients, engineers and architects as needed
- Highly organized, with the ability to plan and multitask to meet deadlines
TRAVEL AND HOURS OF WORK:
- This position requires the individual to be physically present at our main facility in Wallingford, CT. Monday through Friday (Minimum of 45 hours a week)
Requirements
- Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years in Water & Wastewater Mechanical estimating and/or design (minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design, Construction or equivalent experience
- General knowledge of piping systems, ductile iron, CI, stainless steel, and PVC for pressure and gravity systems
- Mechanical knowledge of pumps, controls and associate equipment
- Knowledge of precast concrete and design will be benefit, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Quick Books Enterprise experience a plus)
- Construction Management degree or related field preferred
- High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms and conditions
- Experience with AutoCAD Light
- Experience with ProCore
- Experience working directly with customers and clients, as well as with engineers
- Eligible to work in the United States
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design, Construction or equivalent experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Including by not limited to):
- Able to climb ladders to inspect project(s).
- Able to bend, crouch, twist and pull, as necessary.
- Able to work at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Regular able to work in all types of weather.
