Job Description

Perform day-to-day activities related to set-up and operation of any of the company’s MIG &/or TIG welding machines.
Set-up and operate MIG &/or TIG welders as well as weld sheet metal components together, per customer specifications

PREPARATION / MACHINE SET-UP:
Follow appropriate procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, company policies, etc.
Review, interpret, verify, & complete job-specific paperwork, including associated documents (e.g. blueprint).
Scan into and out of job, utilizing computerized shop management system.
Activate appropriate welding machine and adjust settings appropriately.
Select required welding wire, per job specifications.
If any material/wire is nonconforming:
Segregate and tag all nonconforming material.
Document nonconformance appropriately.
Notify appropriate department and/or supervisory personnel.
MACHINE OPERATION:
Weld metal parts, per job specification.
INSPECTIONS:
Perform quality control inspections at appropriate ratios and/or intervals, for specific job being run.
Make assessments utilizing both visual examination and with use of measuring instruments.
Document results on appropriate paperwork.
MAINTENANCE:
Utilizing proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, assist the Set-Up Operator to clean, lubricate, and maintain punch presses,
per manufacturer recommendations &/or Company requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 2+ years related experience and/or training, or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Core Technical Competencies:
Blueprint reading level: 3 - Reads, understands, interprets tolerances and views
Measuring Instruments – use and measurements:
Specialized skills/training: Machine operation; Hand and Power Tools, Manufacturing Experience
