Job Description

Summary

Weld various parts from materials consisting of mild steel, stainless steel, galvanized, or aluminum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Place machined parts into the appropriate welding fixture.

Weld inside the welding booth.

When certain jobs require welding to be done outside of the welding booth, use the appropriate air filtration system and position it accurately so as to contain all the welding smoke so that it doesn't escape into the building.

Operate Miller pulse welders, Lincoln mig welders, Lincoln tig welders, Fronius welder, AccuPress break presses, Hydamech Bandsaw, and various hand and power tools such as hammers, grinder, etc.

Keep the work area and building clean and organized.

Implements improvements.

Supports the Metal Fabrication department in various duties when welding is not required.

Other duties may be assigned. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Entry level computer skills are necessary to perform this job successfully, including the ability to learn Microsoft Outlook and email.
