Description

Mago Construction Company is a family-owned asphalt paving contractor based out of Bardstown, KY with asphalt plants, two rock quarries, and construction operations throughout the state of Kentucky.

We seek to add a Welder/Fabricator-Maintenance Technician to our team! As a Welder/Fabricator- Maintenance Technician you will perform maintenance welding, troubleshoot operating problems and use a variety of tools to perform maintenance tasks and repairs. Welders are responsible for cutting, bending, aligning, welding, and fabricating.

Primary job duties and responsibilities:

  • Ability to interpret project scope to determine materials required and task sequence.
  • Lay out and examine work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units, following blueprints or design layouts if applies.
  • Able to weld using various materials and techniques.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of safety operating procedures.
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures. (TIG, MMA etc.)
  • Proficient in maintenance welding.
  • Able to use a wide variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Able to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Routine equipment/plant maintenance.
  • Involved with plant improvement projects.
  • Inspect and perform daily repairs and maintenance.

Requirements

Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years welding/fabrication experience or technical school experience.

Musts: be reliable and timely; able to work outside in differing conditions of weather and stand for extended periods of time; work overtime as needed; read tape measure; ability to stand, sit, kneel, crawl, bend, twist, climb and lift 75lbs; must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated.
