THIS IS A FULL TIME PERMANENT PAID POSITION

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILL / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Has passed Weld 3 test.
  • Welding qualification limited to welding horizontal(2F) and vertical (3F) fillet welds until they pass a fillet weld break tests.
    • After fillet weld break tests passed, they may tack in groove welds. 
  • Welding is FCAW only.
  • Weld in the 2F and 3F position without supervision after expectations are established.
  • Perform tack welds working with a fitter.
  • Select and set-up welding equipment and basic troubleshooting.
  • Inspect their fillet (2F/3F) welds and basic repairs to ensure compliance to standards and specifications. (After TC time)
  • Ability to weld to Reasonable Expectations (RE’s)
    • Note: RE’S while in probation
    • RE Reduction: WK9 WK10 WK11 WK12 WK13 WK14 WK15

  • Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with other employees and supervisors.
  • Acceptable attendance, following the established Company policies.
  • Overtime is an essential function of this position

 

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Environment is that of a heavy industrial worksite
  • Outdoor elements are a factor. Extreme weather conditions such as heat and cold
  • Exposure to air particles such as dust and chemicals 
  • Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas
  • Proper personal protective equipment is required such as, steel toed or metatarsal boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, and hard hats 
  • This is a safety-sensitive position. A safety sensitive job or position is where the employee holding the position has, at any time during his or her employment, the responsibility for his or her own safety or the safety of others


 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical school training, preferred, however, is not required
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision
