About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Welder who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and supporting high-quality aerospace manufacturing at Budney Overhaul & Repair. In this role, you will perform TIG (GTAW) welding on a variety of aerospace components, ensuring all work meets strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Do

• Set up, adjust, and operate TIG (GTAW) welding equipment for aerospace components including castings and sheet metal
 • Perform weld repairs, cosmetic weld build-up, and standard joint configurations in accordance with specifications
 • Complete moderate to advanced fitting and welding tasks using established processes and techniques
 • Follow job operation sheets, weld schedules, drawings, and technical instructions to complete work accurately
 
• Perform plug welds and weld repairs on a variety of metals including magnesium, aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and mild steel
 • 
Inspect and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
 • Identify and communicate potential quality or process concerns (red flags)
 • Maintain required weld certifications and qualifications
 • Support development work, fixturing, and process improvements as needed
 • Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and customer requirements
 • Maintain accurate documentation and completion of required process records
 • Work independently while collaborating with team members, engineering, and quality personnel
 • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with Lean/6S practices
 • Follow all company safety policies and properly handle materials and equipment
 • Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
 • Minimum 5 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience
 • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
 • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
 • Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to welding and fabrication

Preferred

• Welding trade school certification or equivalent experience
 • Experience welding aerospace components and working with close tolerances
 • Familiarity with NADCAP, FAA, or other regulated manufacturing environments
 • Experience with magnesium, aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and mild steel
 • Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, micrometers)
 • Ability to meet AWS D17.1 visual acceptance criteria


Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout the workday
 • Frequent use of hands for precise, repetitive motions and tool operation
 • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
 • Comfortable working in an environment with noise, heat, and welding equipment
