Job Description

Job Summary:

Welder II is an integral part of our Plant Operations team, responsible for the final welding of aluminum and stainless-steel railing components. In this role, you will be expected to complete any necessary certifications, interpret shop drawings and weld symbols, and maintain both visual and structural standards for welding handrails. The primary work involves operating a variety of equipment used in the fabrication of handrails, with a focus on welding stainless steel and aluminum. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Models the values and beliefs of the company, respects the individual always, communicates openly and directly with team members in all positions 
  • Understands and accepts that an accident-free environment is not only possible but will be accomplished at Dant Clayton through strict adherence to all safety protocols and standards
  • Welding: Perform stainless-steel and aluminum TIG welding on custom railing products, ensuring high-quality results
  • Collaboration: Work closely with fellow welders and manufacturing team members to complete and ship products on time
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate various welding tools and fabrication machinery
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve welding issues; provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Additional Tasks: Execute other duties as assigned by management to support overall plant operations

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of welding experience with stainless steel or aluminum
  • Technical Skills: Ability to fabricate from sketches and verbal instructions; mechanical aptitude with experience in using tools such as saws, drill presses, and brake presses
  • Certification: Ability to pass a welding ability test, as well as any required AWS certifications
  • Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality results consistently
  • Reliability: Proven track record of reliability, accountability, and adherence to deadlines
  • Safety Focus: Strong commitment to safety, with experience following safety protocols in a manufacturing environment
  • Team Player: Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented setting
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: Prolonged periods of standing
  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility: Must be capable of stooping, reaching, and kneeling for extended periods. 
  • Requires working in a Manufacturing setting with exposure to changing temperatures, metal dust/particles and machine noise levels
