Description

JOB FUNCTION: To perform welding using robotic and hand welding equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operates Robotic Welders with complete knowledge of machine safety, start up and shut down, basic operation of the machine, exchange of active programs and routine maintenance as tasked.
• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans detail working procedure and tools and material requirements.
• Fabricates equipment/product by welding various metals.
• Hand weld/tack as necessary to complete robotic weldments.
• Keeps equipment and work area, safe, clean and orderly, including routine maintenance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  May be assigned any other task deemed necessary by supervisor or management including basic adjustment of robotic programs. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of formal Welding Operator Qualification Test and on the job training to welding supervisor’s approval.
• Complete knowledge of operation of Robotic Welder.
• Will be required to achieve welding qualifications AWS D1.1 minimum 1F qualification thru on job training & testing or approved previous qualification records as approved by Supervisor.
• Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
• Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing tasks.
• Work may involve some heavy lifting and bending. Considerable glare emits from work, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment. Exposed to moderate burns and exposed to flying objects, such as chips and scale.
• Accident hazard can involve severe cuts and bruises.

Requirements

• Two years of skilled welding experience
• Ability to read and understand welding blueprints
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. frequently
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
