Job Description

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 



Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:




  • Set up a welding machine

  • Reviewing and understanding material lists and parts on shop drawings

  • Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project

  • Sourcing the materials to be used in the project

  • Measuring and cutting materials to specifications

  • Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together

  • Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints



ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:




  • Ability to work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:




  • Ability to work scheduled shifts

  • Must be able to work at heights of greater than 6 feet on a regular basis/as work dictates

  • Ability to work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift

  • Ability to bend, stoop, sit, grasp with hands, feel texture with fingers, cling, walk, twist, stand, and work on concrete for up to twelve hours per day up to six (6) days per week



SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 




  • Has prior welding experience or welding training at an accredited school

  • Able to pass SCSG basic steel GMAW plate test per AWS D1.1 standards

  • Able to repeatedly make basic steel fillet welds on dissimilar material thickness

  • Able to weld at an acceptable pace.

  • Able to weld at acceptable quality standards

  • Demonstrates ability to work safely

  • Able to work from a priority list

  • Able to work with others or independently

  • Be organized and keep necessary documents and prints updates with any changes
