Job Description
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. MIG welding.
  • Ability to fit, tack, and weld using FCAW in the following wire diameters: .052, 1/16.
  • Zenar Crane Welders must be able to operate various equipment, including welding equipment, forklift, hoists, riggings, and various hand and power tools. Also, possess a broad knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, welding techniques, and maintenance procedures and practices. Working independently and concentrating on a task over some time without being distracted is required.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and circumference. Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Ability to determine whether machinery is working based on specifications for expectations such as cutting speeds.
  • Ability to complete a 052 flux core welding test.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience as a welder is required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
