About the Role
The Youth & Family Educator is responsible for delivering engaging youth development programming that supports personal growth, life skills development, and career readiness for youth participants. Working within OIC of South Florida’s Youth & Family Division, Educators implement curriculum and facilitate workshops aligned with the division’s three pillars: Positive Youth Development, STEAM exploration, and Talent Pipeline development.

Youth & Family Educators create supportive learning environments where youth can build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills, explore career interests, and develop the tools necessary for long-term academic and professional success.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate youth development workshops and educational sessions focused on leadership, life skills, healthy decision-making, and personal growth.
• Deliver curriculum aligned with the Youth & Family Division’s program pillars including Positive Youth Development, STEAM exposure, and workforce readiness.
• Create engaging and interactive learning environments that encourage youth participation and critical thinking.
• Support youth in developing communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and goal-setting abilities.
• Integrate career awareness and workforce readiness concepts into youth programming in collaboration with Youth Workforce Navigators.
• Assist in coordinating youth activities, workshops, and group projects that reinforce program objectives.
• Support implementation of division initiatives including leadership programming, STEAM activities, and youth engagement events.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and program documentation in accordance with organizational and grant requirements.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure consistent program delivery across multiple sites.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Support outreach and recruitment efforts to engage youth participants in programming.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all youth participants.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Services, Youth Development, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with youth in educational, after-school, or community-based programs.
• Experience facilitating workshops, group activities, or youth development programming preferred.
• Experience working in school-based or community-based youth programs is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management, facilitation, and youth engagement skills.
• Work Location: Broward and Miami-Dade Counties
