NAFI Rhode Island is exploring candidates for Youth Counselors at our adolescent group home in Warwick, RI. The Awake Overnight Youth Counselor is responsible for providing direct supervision, support, and oversight of residents within the residential treatment milieu during overnight hours. This role includes conducting 15-minute safety and wellness checks on sleeping clients, maintaining a safe and structured environment, and supporting a smooth transition into the morning routine as residents begin their day. Successful candidates are compassionate, dependable, and committed to building positive relationships with adolescents. They actively engage with residents, serve as positive role models, and provide consistent support while fostering a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring the comprehensive fulfilment of residents' physical and emotional needs
- Facilitating problem solving among residents and nurturing peer relationships
- Diligently observing and meticulously documenting youth activities
- Supporting teammates with the implementation of the daily schedule
- Offering adept de-escalation and crisis intervention support when necessary
- Actively participating in the scheduled staff meetings

- Hold a valid driver's license
- Residential, Human Services, or Health care experience is a plus
Salary/Hourly Rate: $22.50 per hour
- 11pm - 7am 5 days a week
