Overview:
SNAP-ON BUSINESS SOLUTIONS (group within the RS&I Division-Repair Systems & Information; Snap-on Incorporated)Location:  Richfield, OHWork Hrs:  Monday - Friday; 8a - 5p Performs moderately complex application design, systems analysis, and programming activities, which may require extensive research. Reports to an Application Engineering Manager or Sr. Technical Lead; may be an individual contributor recognized for specific technical expertise or act as project leader addressing a wide range of technical issues within a project(s).  Candidate will have working experience developing enterprise level web applications, specifically single-page applications, using a combination of the Angular web framework and Spring Framework.  (JAVA).

Responsibilities:
<ol><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Performs moderately complex product design and implementation activities which may require extensive research and analysis; performs design, implementation and maintenance of moderately complex multiple product modules/sub-systems; Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and support for assigned products; researches problems discovered and develops solutions to the problems; conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues; suggests technical approaches to management on projects.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">As a project leader effectively handles all development activities of the project, (i.e., identifies resource requirements; manages multiple concurrent related activities, suspends and resumes activities as priorities shift, quantifies risk when contingency planning is needed)</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Provides technical leadership to the team by researching new technology or development tools; is current on activities within the department, company and industry </li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Has greater interaction with clients; actively participates in presentations, technical demonstrations, etc.  </li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Provides training/instruction and technical mentoring to junior associates.</li></ol>TECHNICAL SKILLS:<ul><li>Strong knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns.</li><li>Experience developing enterprise level web applications.</li><li>Experience developing JAVA based web applicaitons using the Spring Framework including TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.</li><li>Experience with JSON and XML, specifically in the role of data binding and data transfer.</li><li>Working experience with three Tier UI component libraries such as PrimeNg is preferred.</li><li>Working experience with SQL queries and PostgreSQL database is a plus.</li><li>Working experience with Maven and Jenkins a plus. </li><li>Able to balance multiple tasksand thrive in a fast-paced Agile-Scrum environment that is focused on quality results.</li></ul>  

Qualifications:
<ul><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science; Minimum 5 years’ experience in software engineering field*.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Minimum 5 years experience in J2EE  /  JAVA development. </li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Thorough understanding of accepted application design principles and multi-tier development practices.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Thorough technical knowledge of industry standards with an emphasis on Web Services*.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Basic understanding of Service Oriented Architecture; Practical experience desirable.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Thorough technical knowledge of software development methodologies.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Excellent analytical and design skills at multiple product level.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Excellent skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Strong understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Basic awareness of business issues as they impact overall project plans.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Recognized central point for technical issues across groups and products.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Proven communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.</li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Ability to work effectively as a team leader, team member or individual contributor.  </li><li style="margin-left: .25in;">Works well independently with reliability and integrity. </li></ul>
