Overview:
Metalcraft is hiring a UI / Front-End Developer to support the development of modern, user-friendly web applications. This role will focus on building responsive user interfaces and improving the overall user experience across internal and customer-facing applications. The UI Developer will work closely with the Software Developer and Software Architect to implement front-end features, translate design concepts into functional interfaces, and contribute to the modernization of existing applications. This position is ideal for someone with strong JavaScript and front-end framework experience who is looking to grow their career in application development. Work is onsite only, in Mayville, Wisconsin. Not remote.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web interfaces for enterprise applications. </li><li>Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, functional front-end code.</li><li>Build and maintain components using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Next.js.</li><li>Collaborate with backend developers to integrate REST APIs and application services.</li><li>Assist in updating and modernizing legacy front-end code and user interfaces.</li><li>Ensure applications are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve front-end bugs and UI performance issues.</li><li>Participate in code reviews and development team collaboration.</li><li>Work with version control systems and issue tracking tools to manage development tasks. </li><li>Contribute to improving front-end development standards, reusable components, and UI consistency.</li><li>Support testing and deployment of applications across development and production environments.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>1–3 years of front-end development experience or relevant internship/project experience. </li><li>Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.</li><li>Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Next.js.</li><li>Experience integrating REST APIs into front-end applications.</li><li>Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.</li><li>Basic knowledge of version control systems (Git).</li><li>Strong attention to detail and interest in building intuitive user experiences.</li><li>Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a development team.</li><li>Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.</li><li>Prefer candidate with experience with UI frameworks or component libraries. </li><li>Familiarity with Azure-based application environments preferred.</li><li>Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum development practices, preferred.</li><li>Exposure to enterprise or manufacturing systems is a plus.</li></ul> Equal opportunity employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity.
