WHAT YOU'LL DO

WHAT'S REQUIRED

<li>Proven experience using AI tools as a core part of the software delivery lifecycle to generate implementation, tests, refactoring, debugging aids, or documentation, with a demonstrated ability to validate AI-generated outputs through testing and targeted human review</li>
<li>Experience supporting production systems used during U.S. trading hours, including participating in production support and incident resolution</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work directly with traders, portfolio managers, operations teams, and compliance teams to convert ambiguous business problems into safe, production-ready solutions</li>
<li>Authorization to work in the United States and ability to be based in Stamford, CT or New York City and work onsite as needed</li>

About the Role:
Subway&rsquo;s middleware platform is the integration backbone of our digital commerce stack &mdash; connecting front-end applications (iOS, Android, Web, Kiosk) with internal systems and third-party partners like DoorDash and Uber Eats. The Senior Quality Engineer, Middleware will own the validation of the reliability, performance, and correctness of the services built by our Senior Software Engineers.

You&rsquo;ll design and execute test strategies covering load and stress testing, contract validation, fault injection, and end-to-end integration scenarios across a distributed, serverless AWS architecture. AI-assisted development is a core part of how our team works &mdash; you&rsquo;ll use tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude daily to accelerate test authoring, generate test data, and analyze failure patterns.
