This person will review medical claims, prior and subsequent to billing, to ensure accuracy and facilitate reimbursements. This position is also responsible for applying bookkeeping methods to a variety of recording and auditing functions. Make corrections as needed, whether minor or major.</li><li style="margin: 0;">Review outpatient medical and mental health claim denials and rejections for any coding errors, correct and resubmit claims as appropriate.</li><li style="margin: 0;">Correct some major errors (e.g., Coding per payer billing requirements, Diagnosis ordering) identified by any Medical Biller 1. Route major errors requiring certified coder review as appropriate.</li><li style="margin: 0;">Research insurance eligibility status and make adjustments.</li></ul></div></td></tr><tr><td valign="top" style="width: 100%; padding: 0px 5.4pt;">Financial:<div style="margin: 0;"><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li style="margin: 0;">Post receipts, invoices, adjustments, and payments for all clinics in electronic health record system.&nbsp;</li><li style="margin: 0;">Generate daily and monthly control reports for services and deposits.</li><li style="margin: 0;">Maintain client account balances and bill various accounts.</li><li style="margin: 0;">Prepare annual write-offs and purge financial records.</li></ul></div></td></tr><tr><td valign="top" style="width: 100%; padding: 0px 5.4pt;">Customer Service:<div style="margin: 0;"><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li style="margin: 0;">Collect and receipt all client payments. EXPERIENCETwo- Three years' experience in medical office work which includes fiscal record keeping, billing, and claim submission; including or supplemented by courses in medical billing.&nbsp; Certifications:Coder or Biller through AAPC or AHIMA*If certified as a Coder or Biller, the employee is required to maintain current and active certification, and to provide the appropriate verifications at the time of renewals. Desirable Qualifications:Bilingual and/or bicultural competencies for the Latino population preferred. Federally Qualified Health Center or Rural Health Center experience preferred.
