 JOB SUMMARYThe Physician Coder I performs evaluation/management coding for clinic, inpatient, and outpatient encounters as well as coding for in-office ancillary services and minor procedures. Assigns and sequences all codes for services rendered. Collaborates with coders, billers, clinical staff, managers, and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate coding assignment and to resolve any coding-related claim denials.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Job Specific:Physician Coder I Duties:<ol><li>Assigns codes to diagnoses, hospital visits, office visits, and in-office ancillary services and minor procedures using correct CPT®, HCPCS Level II, and ICD-10-CM codes.  (EF)</li><li>Ensures that assigned codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with coding guidelines, as well as insurance and government regulations. (EF)</li><li>Examines patient medical record to ensure coding accurately reflects the documented medical care provided. (EF)</li><li>Demonstrates continued improvement on coding reviews and audits, until 90% accuracy is met and maintained. (EF)</li><li>Submits and documents provider queries in a compliant and timely manner. (EF)</li><li>Posts coded records to the practice management system in accordance with insurance payer requirements and policies. (EF)</li><li>Reviews all coded and posted invoices daily, weekly, and/or monthly to identify and correct any pre-billing errors.</li><li>Reviews and corrects coding rejections and denials that do not require appeal. </li><li>Reviews and works assigned work queues in a timely manner to meet insurance payor timely filing and appeal deadlines.</li><li>Consults team members, supervisor, director, and other appropriate resources to resolve coding and documentation questions and issues. (EF)</li><li>Communicates timely and professionally with outside providers or hospital affiliations to obtain information needed to code services per coding and carrier guidelines. (EF)</li><li>Communicates timely and professionally with physicians and managers of any problems arising from incorrect, incomplete coding or documentation.  JOB SUMMARYThe Office Manager is responsible for administration, direction and coordination of assigned CMP staff, supervising all support personnel, appointing supervisors and delegating authority and responsibility where need is indicated.  The Office Manager works closely with the Practice Manager, clinic personnel, department managers and healthcare professionals as well as external contacts and vendors, utilizing effective communication and organizational skills to achieve departmental goals as determined by Administration.Job Specific:1.  Handle the hiring, firing, training and promotions of clinic support personnel, ensuring interim and annual evaluations are completed timely. (EF)2.  Determine training and development programs for clinic support staff, developing on-the-job and/or in-service training programs and arranging for such opportunities. (EF)3.  Ensure that the assigned CMP practice is adequately staffed with trained support personnel, evaluating job workloads to ensure equitable distribution and determining whether reduction or additions in personnel are necessary. (EF)4.  Listen and respond to medical and other staff to hear complaints, accept ideas, consult and act as a liaison between assigned clinics and CMP Practice Manager. (EF)5.  Ensure that all equipment within assigned clinics is maintained in good repair or is replaced as needed and that physical environment is safe.6.  Ensure all billable services are captured, posted and remitted to CMP Business Office, on a timely basis by developing and implementing processes and facilitating coordination between providers, staff and CMP Business Office. (EF)7.  Support and supervise the clinics’ billing systems and collection processes, ensuring proper administration of clinic/hospital policies and procedures are taken on accounts receivable and collection accounts. (EF)8.  Ensure all policies regarding cash handling, POS collections and accurate data entry of patient demographic and insurance are followed. (EF)9.  Continuously review all factors affecting the cost of administration and the operation of assigned clinics, taking necessary corrective action to keep costs commensurate with administrative objectives.
