Job Overview The Coder 2 analyzes clinical documentation; assign appropriate diagnosis, procedure, and levels of service codes; abstract the codes and other clinical data. Performs a variety of technical functions within the Outpatient coding area, codes outpatient visits, sent-in-labs, consolidated funding accounts, utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCs Coding Classification systems. Utilizes an electronic coding software to code to the highest level of specificity, ensuring optimal and appropriate reimbursement for the services provided. Responsibility includes resolving medical necessity edits and extracting and entering data into the medical record. This information is then used to determine reimbursement levels, assess quality of care, study patterns of illness and injuries, compare healthcare data between facilities and between physicians, and meet regulatory and payer reporting requirements. Coder 2's also resolves clinical documentation and charge capture discrepancies and provides feedback to providers on the quality of their documentation and charging. Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.</li><li>Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.</li><li>Assigns ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCs codes to all diagnoses, treatments, and procedures, according to official coding guidelines.</li><li>Knowledge of relationship of disease management, medications and ancillary test results on diagnoses assigned.</li><li>Extracts required information from electronic medical record and enters encoder and abstracting system.</li><li>Follows-up on unabstracted accounts to assure timely billing and reimbursement.</li><li>Resolves any questions concerning diagnosis, procedures, clinical content of the chart or code selection through research and communication. DescriptionCPIhealth has an excellent opportunity for a Quality and Compliance Coordinator for a hybrid role to work at a designated location when onsite. The purpose of this position is to coordinate, provide support, lead, and maintain various projects within the Quality and Compliance Department. Essential Functions:<ul><li>Coordination of internal auditing program; work with operational leadership to ensure that process and procedure are being followed and all survey citations are corrected.</li><li>Coordination of coding audit program (across all disciplines); new provider reviews, provider education, billing requests per CPIHealth compliance plan.</li><li>Partner with all departments to review, develop, train and maintain process and procedure that meets regulatory and best practice standards. Project work may include facilitating meetings, training, analysis, sending action plans, QAPI, scorecards, TQM tools such as RCA, FMEA, etc.</li><li>Work in conjunction with or at the direction of the Quality and Compliance Director to monitor standards and CMS regulations for compliance on an ongoing basis; maintain a constant state of readiness for survey. Ensure that CPIhealth is in compliance with all regulatory standards (federal/state/local).</li><li>Support and collaborate with the Quality and Compliance Director to ensure the execution and communication of performance improvement activities occurs from the department level to CPIhealth management, and both staff members and CPIhealth management members can articulate the improvement plan and activities.</li><li>Partner with operations and department leaders on survey readiness, policy review/updates, standards review, trackers, mock surveys, internal audits, etc.</li><li>Participate in patient centric and patient experience activities through committee work, survey data analysis, provider and employee education, CAHPS education, and customer service training.</li><li>Develop, coordinate and maintain a system for defining and monitoring departmental indicators (scorecards).</li><li>Review the departmental indicators and quality measures on a regular basis and make recommendations as needed to ensure the performance improvement efforts are effective and that activities are directed toward analysis of data, with a focus on improvement of process.</li><li>Assist Quality and Compliance Director with the annual compliance plan review and employee certification process.</li><li>Coordination of document, training and record control; policies, procedures, documents in Learning System.</li><li>Responsible for Quality Reporting to various regulatory bodies (examples include, ACOs, MIPS, MNCM, ASQR, etc.)</li><li>Work in close collaboration with Practice Managers, Medical Directors, and Operational leadership.</li><li>Coordinate and support Quality and Compliance Director with department initiatives.</li><li>Primary location: Corporate/Hybrid work.
