As a Coder in our UMSA Admin Department, you&rsquo;ll transform medical diagnoses and procedures into accurate billing codes that drive proper reimbursement, compliance, and overall care quality. Whether you&rsquo;re certified or working toward certification, your attention to detail helps ensure patients receive the care they need without unnecessary delays.

In This Role, You Will:

<ul>
	<li>Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to all diagnoses and procedures based on medical documentation.</li>
	<li>Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation and ensure complete, compliant records.</li>
	<li>Complete coding within four business days of service (excluding weekends/holidays) to meet departmental goals.</li>
	<li>Maintain at least 95% coding accuracy and adhere to regulatory and payer guidelines.</li>
	<li>Use electronic coding and abstracting tools efficiently to support accurate claim submission.</li>
	<li>Monitor workflow to avoid delays and notify leadership if work falls behind.</li>
	<li>Assist clinic staff by sharing coding updates and supporting process improvements.</li>
	<li>Perform additional duties as needed to support hospital operations.</li>
</ul>

What We&rsquo;re Looking For:

	<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
	<li>One year of hospital or clinic coding experience preferred.</li>
	<li>Certification (CCS, CIC, or COC) required within two years of hire.</li>
	<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and EMR systems.</li>
	<li>Strong communication skills and attention to detail.</li>
	<li>Ability to work independently while supporting clinic staff with questions and education.</li>
