Job Summary 
The Clinical Documentation Excellence Specialist (CDES) is a pivotal role.&nbsp; The role works closely with providers and healthcare teams to enhance clinical documentation accuracy and ensure ICD-10 coding precision. Duties and Responsibilities 
Primary Responsibilities:

 <li>Conduct Timely Reviews: Evaluate outpatient clinical records promptly to identify and address documentation or coding gaps, ensuring accurate representation of clinical severity.</li> 
 <li>Enhance Provider Collaboration: Partner with healthcare providers to refine documentation processes and improve point-of-care documentation accuracy.</li> 
 <li>Facilitate Clear Communication: Engage with providers through queries in the EMR to clarify documentation needs, provide feedback, and guide improvements in coding specificity and completeness of clinical documentation.</li> 
 <li>Lead Improvement Initiatives: Drive efforts to enhance clinical documentation and coding quality through strategic recommendations and collaboration.</li> 
 <li>Leverage EMR Software: Document clarification activities using EMR tools and consult with leadership to address provider concerns.</li>

Minimum Qualifications 
Required Qualifications: 
<ul> 
 <li>Minimum of 3 years of combined, or equivalent, experience as a clinical RN, Foreign Medical Graduate with CDI certification, outpatient certified medical coder with CDI certification.</li> 
 <li>High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant vocational training</li> 
 <li>Proven experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement.</li> 
 <li>Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with medical and/or behavioral health providers.</li> 
 <li>Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and adapt to change.</li> 
 <li>Proficiency working in a Microsoft environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records.</li> 
</ul> 
Preferred Qualifications: 
<ul> 
 <li>Experience applying risk adjustment concepts in CDI reviews.</li> 
 <li>CCDS, CDIP, CDEO, or CCS certification.</li> 
 <li>Familiarity with eClinicalWorks.</li>

Camp Technology Teacher

Experience teaching or working with children; technology background; college degree and teaching certification or equivalent.

In conjunction with and under the general supervision of the Director, Professional Fees, the Supervisor, Charge & Billing Edit Reconciliation (SCBER) will provide general oversight of the charge entry, and charge and billing edits reconciliation processes within the Department of Medicine Billing Office (DOMBO) to ensure the submission of clean claims. General oversight includes, but not limited to, supervision of charge entry functions and team members, ensuring appropriate staffing structure to support achievement of monthly/quarterly/yearly charge budget metrics, review and resolution of front-end billing (TES & CM edits), completion of charge corrections, developing cross-training amongst team members, identifying process improvements that optimize all front-end charge entry functions to foster submission of clean claims, and are in alignment with the Department of Medicine’s (DOM) front-end key performance indicators (KPIs). The SCBER will collaborate with the Department of Medicine Billing Operations Team that includes key representatives from Coding, Revenue Operations, and Business Integrity to identify, assess, propose, develop, and implement front-end charge capture and reconciliation initiatives that support and are in alignment with the Department of Medicine’s front-end KPIs and facilitate the submission of clean claims. The SCBER will have a very granular understanding of all key front-end charge capture aspects in the DOMBO and become a subject matter expert in that area. This position will collaborate with others to identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities in all areas of the revenue cycle, making recommendations to the Operations Team and/or Director. This position will be expected to effectively communicate with Faculty Practice, Incorporated (FPI) Practice Operations and Quality Assurance team members, Practice Association Leadership, Division Administrators, and/or their delegates, and all other internal and external customers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred</li>
<li>College experience in related field i.e. business or healthcare etc., preferred</li>
<li>2-5 years of charge entry, billing edit and/or medical practice billing and/or healthcare revenue cycle experience</li>
<li>1-2 years of supervisory or lead experience, preferred, in any industry</li>
<li>Certified Professional Coder (CPC), preferred. If not a CPC, a strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines is required and ability to pass a coding proficiency test.</li>
