Prepares IV (intravenous) packs, using sterile technique, under supervision of hospital pharmacist. Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods. Types and files reports, and completes formed as directed. Assists in stocking shelves, checking prices and maintaining inventory. Higher level technicians may have the following additional duties: May work closely with drug wholesalers and directly with manufacturers to ensure the uninterrupted provision of medications for our patients and ensure the Robot completes the daily assignments on time and with accuracy. Examples: mold setup, or cutter adjustments.</li><li>Responsible for mold change and machine adjustments.</li><li>Start up and shut down the molding machines.</li><li>Operate forklift to do mold changes.</li><li>Use forklift to move and organize molds.</li><li>Responsible for filling out the daily process records necessary to control and maintain machine running conditions.</li><li>Conduct minor repairs and change inserts, as necessary.</li><li>Responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of high-volume molding machines.</li><li>Monitor production quantities for color change, mold change and product completions.</li><li>Execute all activities within the scope of approved procedures and sets priorities necessary to accomplish pre-determined goals based on production needs.</li><li>Monitor scrap being produced from process and effect changes needed to eliminate root cause of scrap.</li><li>Maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping by 5S standards in the assigned work area.</li><li>Promote, attain, and maintain safety, quality, and environmental awareness and requirements in the area of responsibility.</li><li>Identify and resolve issues in the assigned working area related to equipment, machines, personnel, process, training, and materials, which conflict in obtaining maximum quality of production and efficiency.</li><li>Provide recommendations to engineering about process improvement opportunities for processes, practices, equipment, performance, and efficiency of operations.</li><li>Inspect machines hourly in the assigned working area to ensure production of acceptable quality parts to prevent mass production of defective or unacceptable parts (scrap).</li><li>Accurately report daily shift performances, which include but not limited to safety, quality, labor hours, production tickets, scrap, and first part approvals.</li><li>Must be able to troubleshoot support equipment (grinders, blenders, hopper loaders, and chillers.</li><li>Inform Production Lead, where necessary, of all events affecting the flow of production.</li><li>Communicate with on-coming team members with respect to shift performance and scrap.</li><li>Act to promptly correct or remove all workplace hazards.</li><li>Other duties assigned by management.</li></ul><div><br /><strong>ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:</strong></div><ul><li>Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules.</li><li>Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).</li><li>ISO sections pertaining to the position.</li></ul><div><br /><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></div><ul><li>Minimum of 3+ years of related molding plastics processing and maintenance experience preferred.</li><li>Experience in machine start-up and shutdown.
