Join our dynamic team today and find a rewarding career with a company that values you and all you bring to the table.About Your Role:As a Director, Data Scientist and Advanced Analytics at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll lead advanced analytics for evaluating the financial performance of our store portfolio and informing key investment decisions across thousands of retail locations. You will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership by analyzing rich datasets—including store transactions, demographics, operational metrics, and employee data—to build models that explain and forecast performance drivers. You will also oversee vendor relationships to operationalize analytics in a scalable and cost-efficient way, including collaboration with offshore analytics partners. Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Advanced Analytics &amp; Modeling<ul><li>Lead development of statistical and predictive models to quantify the impact of investments and operational initiatives on store performance, profit, and growth</li><li>Drive the end-to-end analytics lifecycle: data sourcing, feature engineering, model development/validation, and impact measurement</li><li>Champion best practices in data quality, reproducibility, model governance, and documentation</li></ul>Executive Insights &amp; Decision Support<ul><li>Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights for senior business leaders with compelling storytelling and visualizations</li><li>Build dashboards and reporting frameworks to communicate portfolio performance and scenario forecasts to executive audiences</li></ul>Cross-Functional Partnership<ul><li>Partner closely with finance, operations, real estate, merchandising, HR and other cross-functional teams to frame business problems, establish KPIs, and align on analytical approaches</li></ul>Vendor &amp; Operating Model Leadership<ul><li>Establish a collaborative operating model with external analytics vendors (e.g., partners in India or similar low-cost/high-talent locations), including specification of requirements, quality assurance, and delivery oversight</li></ul>Business Impact<ul><li>Models that materially improve forecasting accuracy and investment evaluation</li><li>Consistent, executive-grade insights that influence strategic decisions</li><li>Strong collaboration between internal teams and external analytics partners</li><li>Scalable analytics processes and tools that reduce time-to-insight and increase adoption</li></ul>Your Required Skills and Experience:<ul><li>10&#43; years of relevant experience in data science, advanced analytics, or related quantitative role (finance, operations research, econometrics, etc.) with strong track record of modeling business outcomes</li><li>Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Math, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field</li><li>Deep statistical knowledge and expertise with predictive modeling, regression, causal inference, time series, and other quantitative methods</li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives</li><li>Proficiency with SQL and at least one scripting language for analytics (Python, R, SAS)</li><li>Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and dashboard delivery</li><li>Business Communication: Translate analytical insights clearly and convincingly for executive audiences</li><li>Strategic Thinking: Focus on business impact — not just technically correct analysis, but insight that drives value</li><li>Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead discussions with finance, operations, technology, and vendor teams to execute analytics initiatives</li><li>Data Storytelling &amp; Visualization: Craft compelling narratives supported by charts, models, and dashboard</li></ul>Preferred Requirements:<ul><li>Prior experience working with large retail datasets and multi-dimensional performance metrics</li><li>Prior experience leading vendor/partner analytics engagements</li><li>Demonstrated leadership in analytics initiatives that influenced business strategy</li></ul>Our success is a team effort —When we reach our goals, you’ll be eligible for a yearly bonus!Your Perks and Benefits:<ul><li>We offer a wide variety of rewards to support your health, wealth, and mental well-being.
