PRIMARY FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILTYServe as the primary architect and steward of a new Azure Data Lake system, responsible for design, development, implementation, systemic integration, and ongoing maintenance. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize existing data workflows and applications in the Azure Data Lake. The DevOps Engineer will optimize SJRC Texas&rsquo; AI posture, assisting in implementation within a complex infrastructure and ecosystem, while serving as a subject matter expert in the frontier of AI.<h2>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</h2><ul style="margin-left: -0.25in;"><li>Lead the construction and ongoing maintenance of a Data Lake system to meet the organization&rsquo;s needs</li><li>Support the organization in capturing, mapping and solving for the integration of a complex set of requirements.</li><li>Comprehend strategic value and potential of AI systems (primarily Microsoft Copilot), particularly agentic AI implementations for workflow optimization to solve specific use cases.</li><li>Ensure security of data infrastructure and applications by implementing best practices, security controls, and compliance standards.</li><li>Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure operational excellence. This includes but is not limited to detailed change management logs and system write-ups.</li><li>Integrate automated testing, code quality analysis, and security scanning into CI/CD workflows.</li><li>Implement container security policies and runtime monitoring.</li><li>Understand best practices for Power Automate flows and implement them for immensely varied use cases.</li><li>Implement dashboards and metrics for platform performance and reliability, as well as assist Data Analytics teams with dashboard creation within PowerBI.</li><li>Support incident response and root-cause analysis as needed.</li><li>Serve as an innovative, proactive solutions-finder, leveraging the entire IT team and other departments to autonomously identify and improve use cases.</li><li>Synthesize and communicate critical domain updates to department leadership so that they can proactively address organizational impact and implement responsive solutions.&nbsp;</li><li>Work independently on special projects under the direction of the VP of IT.</li><li>Travel as needed (30%) between facilities in San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Bulverde, TX.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSRequired:&nbsp;<ul style="list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree from an accredited college or university in technology or a related field, or 4+ years of experience in the field in lieu of education</li><li>Certifications: Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) or equivalent certification.&nbsp;</li><li>Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud and Microsoft Fabric.</li><li>Comprehensive familiarity with Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and/or Data Lakehouse philosophies.</li><li>Familiarity with AI systems and their successful and long-term implementation within business systems while maintaining strict data security best practices (such as HIPAA, GDPR, and NIST).</li><li>Working knowledge of Cybersecurity technologies and NIST standards.</li><li>1+ years of experience with Power Automate and Power BI flows.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong scripting abilities (examples: C+, SQL, Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to resolve gaps, automate tasks, and tie systems and data together holistically.</li><li>Proficient with continuous improvement/continuous delivery [CI/CD] concepts and tools (examples: GitLab, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills, to artfully communicate problems and solutions identified as well as translate critical information to lay audiences</li></ul>Preferred:&nbsp;<ul style="list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;"><li>2+ years&rsquo; applicable experience with the Azure Cloud/Azure Data Systems.</li><li>2+ years&#39; experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.</li><li>2+ years&#39; experience with CI/CD pipelines.&nbsp;</li><li>Progress in or completion of the following certifications:<ul style="list-style-type: circle;"><li>Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)</li><li>Microsoft Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204)</li><li>Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)</li><li>Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102)</li></ul></li></ul>PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS<ul style="margin-left: 5.800000000000001px;"><li>Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk.</li><li>Pick up or move light equipment.</li><li>Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.</li><li>Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.</li><li>Possible injury when lifting or moving if an employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used.</li></ul> DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP/ REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSSupervised by: Vice President of ITSupervises: N/A
