For this role you will expected to have progressive, demonstrated success in software development experience developing applications using a variety of tools, languages, frameworks, and technologies. What You&#39;ll Do (Responsibilities): <ul><li>Implement and maintain GM Motorsports aero-thermal applications including CFD model construction, visualization, and analysis using microservices architectures to creatively integrate loosely coupled systems.</li><li>Define a templated approach to integrate dependent systems in a functional programming model.</li><li>Scrum story delivery.</li><li>Playbooks, implementation architectures, interfaces, build frameworks, code, testing, deployment for your story.</li><li>Participation in solution architectures.</li><li>Working with other members to collaborate, support, and otherwise work together.</li></ul><h2>Your Skills &amp; Abilities (Required Qualifications):</h2><ul><li>5&#43; years hands‑on full‑stack or backend‑focused development experience, with strong emphasis on server‑side architectures supporting batch processing, multi‑stage pipelines, and compute‑intensive workloads (e.g., CFD workflows, large numerical simulation pipelines, HPC job orchestration).</li><li>2&#43; years designing and developing backend web services (REST/GRPC) including server‑side batch execution engines, distributed compute orchestration, asynchronous task processing, and workflow automation for CFD or similar computational pipelines.</li><li>Demonstrated experience building high‑performance server‑side processing frameworks, including parallelized job execution, distributed scheduling, queue‑based workloads, and fault‑tolerant pipeline management.</li><li>Strong experience with pipeline‑oriented architectures, such as CFD post‑processing chains, multi‑stage data conditioning workflows, large model computation pipelines, or batch‑driven scientific/engineering processing systems.</li><li>Proficiency in two or more backend‑focused languages or ecosystems: Java, Python, Scala, C#/.NET, or equivalent, used to build distributed compute services and processing automation.</li><li>Experience with containerized compute environments (Kubernetes, Docker), especially for scaling simulation services, HPC workflow endpoints, or compute‑heavy microservices.</li><li>Solid understanding of software development best practices, DevOps, CI/CD, observability (metrics/logging/tracing), and reliability engineering for long‑running, high‑load backend systems.</li><li>Experience working in an agile/scrum environment, especially on teams delivering simulation pipelines, compute orchestration services, or backend system components.</li></ul><h2>People Skills</h2><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to articulate sound technical decisions and deep understanding of distributed, event‑driven, or batch‑processing architectures, especially those powering HPC, CFD simulations, or multidisciplinary compute workloads.</li><li>Highly collaborative mindset with strong communication skills, especially when working with simulation engineers, aerodynamicists, data engineers, and HPC platform teams.</li></ul><h2>What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline—CFD or scientific computing experience is a strong plus.</li><li>Experience with VR frameworks (Unity, Unreal Engine) for simulation or CFD visualization.</li><li>Experience with distributed compute or streaming frameworks such as Akka, MQTT, Pulsar, Kafka, or Azure Event Hubs, especially for orchestrating compute pipelines.</li><li>Integration experience using RPC, REST, GRPC in high‑throughput, latency‑sensitive backend workflows.</li><li>Background with Azure or other cloud HPC/PAAS/SAAS platforms, particularly for distributed compute scaling, cluster workloads, or simulation hosting.</li><li>Team leadership or architecture experience in simulation platforms, high‑performance compute systems, or large distributed backend infrastructures.</li><li>Knowledge of stateless or functional system design, especially beneficial for scalable pipeline processing.</li><li>Familiarity with efficient serialization formats (Avro, Protocol Buffers) for large scientific or simulation datasets.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of AI/ML, especially applied to surrogate modeling, simulation acceleration, or processing pipeline optimization.</li><li>Passion for Motorsports and fast‑paced engineering environments where CFD and simulation pipelines accelerate performance development.</li></ul>#LI-DH2&amp;#xa;&amp;#xa;GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role. Senior Software Engineer- Aero CFD Platform (Motorsports)

Senior Software Engineer

5+ years in full-stack or backend development; 2+ years building backend services; CFD/HPC pipelines; Java/Python/Scala/C#/.NET; Kubernetes/Docker; CI/CD and DevOps; agile/scrum experience.

Summary/Objective The primary role of a Production Support Engineer is to provide Tier 3 technical escalation support and system reliability expertise for the Paymentus application. This role requires conducting deep-dive root cause analysis, writing complex SQL queries, analyzing application logs/code, and professional communication to both internal and external parties. It involves driving permanent resolutions to critical incidents, implementing automation to reduce toil, and collaborating directly with core development teams to enhance platform stability.
 Essential Functions/ Responsibilities 1. Advanced Issue/Incident Resolution & RCA a. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues that require solution engineering. b. Lead critical incident (P1/P2) response calls, coordinating technical teams to restore service rapidly during outages. c. Conduct deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all critical incidents, producing detailed post-mortem reports and defining preventive action items. d. Debug application stack traces and analyze source code (Java, .NET, or similar) to pinpoint logic errors versus configuration issues. 2. Database & Data Integrity a. Design and execute complex SQL queries to diagnose data inconsistencies across multiple table joins and large datasets. b. Analyze database performance issues related to slow-running queries and suggest indexing or query optimization strategies. 3. Automation & Tooling a. Identify opportunities to reduce manual operational "toil" by developing automation scripts (using Python, PowerShell, or Bash). b. Develop internal tools or utilities that empower Tier 2 Analysts to solve lower-level issues independently. 4. Platform Stability & Engineering Collaboration a. Collaborate directly with Core Product Development and DevOps teams to propose architectural improvements and permanent bug fixes. b. Participate in code reviews and user acceptance testing (UAT) for hotfixes and maintenance releases to ensure production readiness. 5. Technical Communication a. Translate complex technical findings into clear, concise explanations for external clients and internal business stakeholders. b. Mentor and train Tier 2 Analysts, creating technical documentation and "runbooks" to improve the team's overall resolution capabilities.

Salary Range $90k-$110k 
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week. On-call shifts covering nights and weekends are required, rotating on a weekly basis.
