Work on software design, coding, and validating software. Support verification and validation testing, unit testing, and ensuring that all product development conforms to design specifications and coding standards for medical devices. Exercise judgment in coding following the software designs and conducting investigation activities following defined methods. Develop productive internal/external working relationships.WHAT YOU&#39;LL DO<ul><li>Design and develop highly scalable web applications using JavaScript frameworks.</li><li>Build distributed cloud based microservices that can efficiently scale with minimal effort.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of software design specifications for implementation of software designs per Abbott design development process.</li><li>Assist in the evaluation of selected designs through testing and full documentation of the results.</li><li>Work on problems of moderate to complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.</li><li>Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.</li><li>Implement high quality, secure and robust applications with optimal performance suitable for cloud service application.</li><li>Work collaboratively with cross functional teams.</li></ul>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU&#39;LL BRINGRequired<ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in relevant engineering discipline, computer science, related engineering field.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience in software development (combination of programming-heavy coursework, school projects, freelance work and professional experience).</li><li>Excellent communication skills and be able to work in a cohesive team environment.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficient in Java and JavaScript programming.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience developing Web applications using JavaScript frameworks like Angular.</li></ul><ul><li>Hands‑on development experience building and deploying cloud services in Azure (App Services, Functions, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Cosmos DB or Postgres, Azure DevOps CI/CD).</li></ul><ul><li>Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design principles, design patterns and UML.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with server-side technologies: Spring, Hibernate, JMS, and Web Service (SOAP/RESTful).</li></ul><ul><li>Good understanding of: JBoss EAP server, WebSphere MQ and API Manager.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience in relational databases: PostgresSQL or Oracle.</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Familiarity with container technologies and microservices architecture.</li></ul>WHAT WE OFFER At Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
