Position Summary:
Software Application Developers design, build, implement, and maintain business-facing software applications to meet organizational needs. Software Application Developers maintain and support both new and existing applications to enhance function and maintain or improve performance, in addition to identifying opportunities for automation. This role will build solutions to directly support the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Project Overview/Job Description:
 
Opportunity for a Software Development candidate to learn and use real world development skills and receive an introduction into the energy domain.  The candidate will use multiple technologies including C#, Java, Angular, Visual Studio, GitLab, and related technologies to help create proof-of-concept applications for web-based reading and reporting of electrical meter data. 
 
Student Objectives/Responsibilities:
 
•    Create and enhance code under the guidance of an experienced team. •    Write and enhance unit tests for test driven development. •    Perform functional tests with the resulting applications with electrical meters. •    Analyze and fix defects discovered in testing. •    Work with Docker containers and yaml pipeline scripts to create or maintain CI/CD builds in GitLab. •    Collaborate with the team to log, track, and update defects in Azure DevOps (ADO), ensuring accurate and timely documentation. •    Contribute from the experience gained to inform future development paths for Landis+Gyr software.
 
Qualifications:
 •    Interest in Software development •    Self-motivated to learn new technology. •    Enthusiastic about online research and problem solving. •    Education or experience in at least one of Java or .Net C# development. •    Willingness to work on real-world automation projects in the energy domain •    Strong problem-solving and online research skills
