This role focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions while owning assigned components and customer issues end-to-end. The position requires sound technical judgment, low-level design responsibility, and a solid understanding of software security principles, including practical cryptography and PKI, within a collaborative team environment.This is a full-time intermediate level position, working in a hybrid model, and reporting to our Ottawa office at least 3-4 days a week.&#xa0;The target compensation package for this role is between CAD $95K and $115K, subject upon internal equity and years of experience. &#xa0;We may make further adjustments through an approval process if the targeted compensation range needs to be modified based on business needs and market trends.Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>Independently investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and internal issues, including root-cause analysis and implementation of effective solutions.</li><li>Design and implement backend services, UI applications, third-party integrations, and REST services using Java/Spring, Golang, frontend technologies (such as Angular), and/or scripting solutions.</li><li>Own and maintain integrations with third-party products and external systems, including handling API changes, failures, and version upgrades.</li><li>Take responsibility for delivering complete solutions, including production code, unit and integration tests, design documentation, performance analysis, and product support artifacts.</li><li>Participate actively in code reviews, both receiving and providing constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.</li><li>Apply low-level design principles to components and services, considering performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.</li><li>Perform scripting and automation tasks using shell scripting on Linux and PowerShell on Windows to improve efficiency and reliability.</li><li>Work with containerized applications using Docker and contribute to deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.</li><li>Demonstrate awareness of production systems by analyzing logs, metrics, and alerts, and participating in incident analysis and remediation.</li><li>Additional tasks associated with this position may be assigned in response to company initiatives and business needs.</li></ul>Qualifications:Education<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent is strongly recommended.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>3 - 6+ years of relevant corporate or commercial experience in a software development role.</li><li>Java and Golang are required or strongly preferred, with hands-on exposure to development technologies such as Java (Maven, Spring framework) and Golang toolchains required or strongly preferred.</li><li>Solid experience designing and consuming REST APIs, working within microservices-based architectures, and integrating with external systems.</li><li>Experience developing software in a professional environment, including source control, bug tracking systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Linux environments is required.</li><li>Strong English language communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.</li></ul>Technical Knowledge (Preferred)<ul><li>Strong understanding of software security principles, including authentication, authorization, practical cryptography, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).</li><li>Experience integrating with third-party products, services, and APIs.</li><li>Working knowledge of Docker and containerized application concepts.</li><li>Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is a plus.</li><li>Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell is a plus.</li></ul>Talents and Desired Qualifications<ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.</li><li>Demonstrated ownership of tasks and the ability to deliver solutions with minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to make sound technical decisions at the component level and raise risks or concerns proactively.</li><li>Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills for working effectively in a global team environment.</li><li>Clear and confident communication skills, capable of explaining technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>Additional Information:All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.<div sr-tagline=""></div>Global team.
