<p>The Software Engineer position will design, develop and maintain ERP applications and integration solutions to support all aspects of NI&amp;S operations to include business management systems, technology infrastructure management systems and automation solutions in a cloud based AWS environment. As a member of the Software Development team this position will support advanced network, communications, public safety, cable television, and data center services. This position will have a significant focus on network and systems automation and integration. Virginia Tech networks utilize multiple vendor routing, switching, and wireless technologies. The campus core and border consist of a sophisticated architecture that serves as the high-speed backbone for network services that meet the operational, academic, social, and research needs of over 33,000 students and 8,000 faculty/staff. Additionally, NI&amp;S manages a Zoom voice system that supports almost 10,000 voice services and E911 service for university sites across the state of Virginia. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Software Development and as a member of the Software Development team works closely with members of the Network Engineering team, Applications Administration team and Product team.
