Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.Job Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead development and enhancement of embedded control software and application‑level solutions for laboratory robotics.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance in software development and automation technologies.</li><li>Contribute to software architecture and design to ensure scalable, maintainable, and robust solutions.</li><li>Take ownership of features and project execution while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.</li><li>Develop automation tools and libraries that simplify robotic programming and improve software efficiency.</li><li>Work with Manufacturing Engineering to design bring‑up, testing, and diagnostic software for production automation equipment.</li><li>Troubleshoot field service issues and collaborate with Customer Care to improve system reliability.</li><li>Ensure alignment with ISO 13485 quality and regulatory standards during all software development activities.</li><li>Stay current with advancements in robotics, automation, and embedded systems and apply relevant innovations.</li><li>Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and process improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and team effectiveness.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence &amp; Robotics, or an Associate’s degree with 2 or more years of experience in robotics, or a high school diploma with 4 or more years of experience in robotics.</li><li>3 or more years of experience in software development focused on robotics, automation, or embedded systems.</li><li>3 or more years of experience using Java, C/C&#43;&#43;, Python, or Rust (strong experience in at least one).</li><li>3 or more years of experience with object‑oriented design, software architecture, and system integration.</li><li>3 or more years of experience with real‑time embedded systems, motion control, or robotic programming.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>1 or more years of experience with electrical interfacing, sensors, or motor control.</li><li>1 or more years of experience with industrial automation protocols, machine vision, or real‑time data processing.</li><li>1 or more years of experience using IDEs, source control tools such as Git, and CI/CD workflows.</li><li>1 or more years of experience with web technologies such as Angular or Node.js.</li><li>1 or more years of experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.</li></ul>Additional Job Standards<ul><li>Familiarity with relational or NoSQL database systems.</li><li>Ability to mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.</li><li>Experience leading small technical projects or major feature development.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills to support cross‑team collaboration.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced environments with multiple priorities.</li></ul>About the RoleThe Software Engineer develops software solutions supporting laboratory automation and robotics.
