<p>Slickdeals is seeking a highly experienced Senior II level Android Engineer to drive the technical vision, execution, and quality of our Android platform. This role serves as a key technical leader responsible for designing and delivering innovative mobile experiences for Slickdeals users. You will guide architectural decisions, mentor the team, lead large-scale initiatives, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, iOS, Backend, and other engineering groups to ensure a seamless, performant, and reliable mobile experience.</p>

<h4><strong>Technical Leadership &amp; Strategy</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Drive the long-term technical roadmap and architecture for the Android platform while leading complex, cross-functional initiatives—including architecture upgrades, Jetpack Compose adoption, modularization, and system-wide performance and scalability improvements.</li>
<li>Evaluate and introduce new libraries, tools, and frameworks to improve developer velocity, code quality, and user experience.</li>
<li>Guide the team through technical decision-making, system design reviews, and engineering best practices.</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>Hands-On Engineering</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Design, develop, test, debug, and deliver high-quality Android features using Kotlin (and Java when needed).</li>
<li>Build robust integrations with backend services, ensuring efficient data handling, caching strategies, and error handling.</li>
<li>Write comprehensive unit, functional, and automated tests to maintain app stability and reliability.</li>
<li>Optimize app performance across network, rendering, memory, and startup time.</li>

<h4><strong>Collaboration &amp; Cross-Functional Influence</strong></h4>

<li>Work with Product, Design, and engineering partners to deeply understand user needs, influence product direction, and guide technically sound, user-focused feature development</li>
<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve mobile architecture, tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and development processes.</li>
<li>Contribute to mobile-wide standards, including observability, crash reporting, performance metrics, and release readiness.</li>

<li>Mentor and coach senior and mid-level engineers to elevate the team’s technical capabilities.</li>

<li>Stay current with the latest Android SDK updates, best practices, UX patterns, and platform capabilities.</li>

<div class="p-rich_text_section"><strong>Required Qualifications</strong>
<ul>
<li>7+ years of professional Android development experience, with deep expertise in Kotlin (Java experience also valuable).</li>
<li>Proven success operating at a Senior Engineer II level driving architectural decisions and large-scale initiatives.</li>
<li>Mastery of modern Android frameworks and patterns:</li>
<ul>
<li>Jetpack/AndroidX, Architecture Components</li>
<li>Jetpack Compose (highly preferred)</li>
<li>Coroutines, Flow</li>
<li>MVVM, MVI, or similar architectures</li>
<li>Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger)</li>
</ul>
<li>Strong experience working on large-scale, high-performance Android applications.</li>
<li>Expertise in performance profiling, crash/ANR analysis, memory optimization, and observability tooling.</li>
<li>Experience with modern development workflows, including Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, Agile processes, and automated mobile testing frameworks.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of GraphQL and RESTful APIs, networking best practices, offline support patterns, and mobile analytics practices such as A/B testing and feature flag integrations.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with monitoring and crash-reporting tools, including Firebase, Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar platforms.</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive mindset for identifying risks and opportunities.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders.</li>
<li>Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Previous experience as an Android mobile engineer in an e-commerce or deal-oriented industry.</li>
