Overview:
NOTE:  This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence three days per week at one of our local offices, located in Allentown, PA (Lehigh Valley), Louisville, KY, or Providence, RI.   #LI-Hy   #INDPPL The Developer Team Lead designs develops, and tests solutions based on the functional and technical specifications to meet quality & performance requirements. They are expected to be proficient in a variety of technologies and languages (MEAN, MERN, C#, Java, C++, etc., Microservices, Cloud Architecture and API’s) to develop applications. The developer approaches software holistically, catering to both user experience and functionality. The developer dabbles in emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning, internet of things and Artificial Intelligence etc.) to develop solutions that improve business performance (e.g., proactive customer service, outage management, grid balancing, fraud detection, IoT security). The Team Lead is recognized as an expert in their functional area within the organization and works independently, under minimal guidance from their manager. Responsibilities <ul type="disc"><li>Assist in the development, optimization, and implementation of scalable and robust data pipelines and ETL processes using tools like Informatica, Fivetran, DBT, or OpenFlow to transform and load data into data warehouses such as Snowflake</li><li>Administer modern Data Lakehouse Platforms such as Snowflake, One Lake, and Databricks</li><li>Support the design and implementation of data models to accommodate various business needs</li><li>Integrate and work with diverse data sources, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL</li><li>Participate in the setup and monitoring of streaming data platforms, using tools like Kafka and Amazon Kinesis</li><li>Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing validation and monitoring processes</li><li>Collaborate with team members to optimize the performance of existing data infrastructure</li><li>Perform troubleshooting and diagnose issues within data pipelines and systems to ensure smooth operations</li><li>Work within Agile development practices, including participation in Scrum meetings and sprint planning</li><li>Preference for familiarity with AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to enhance development efficiency</li></ul> Qualifications <ul type="disc"><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.</li><li>2-5 years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or related work.</li><li>Hands-on experience or familiarity with the tools and technologies listed in the responsibilities.</li><li>Strong analytical skills, with a problem-solving mindset.</li><li>Effective communication and teamwork abilities.</li><li>Experience with Agile development practices, particularly Scrum.</li><li>Experience with Development tools such as Github, Visual Studio, etc.</li><li>Experience programming with languages such as Java, Javascript and Python.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic operational issues within data systems.</li></ul> Compensation In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $76,700 - $120,600. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
