In this role, you will serve as the Senior developer responsible for the support and reliability of a mission-critical payment processing platform hosted on AWS.You will work across the full stack — front end and back end — while driving engineering best practices, CI/CD maturity, and DevOps culture within an agile team environment. This is a hands-on position requiring both deep technical ability and collaborative team guidance. What you will be doingApplication Development &amp; Ownership<ul><li>Hands-on full-stack development of the Money Movement Hub application, covering both front-end interfaces and back-end services. </li><li>Architect and implement scalable, highly available solutions on AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, SQS, API Gateway, and related services). </li><li>Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices in Java and Python. </li><li>Own code quality standards — conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers. </li></ul>CI/CD &amp; DevOps<ul><li>Build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Harness, or equivalent). </li><li>Collaborate with DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams on deployment strategies, environment management, and release automation. </li><li>Drive shift-left testing initiatives including automated unit, integration, and regression testing. </li></ul>Production Operations &amp; On-Call<ul><li>Participate in an on-call production support rotation for the Money Movement Hub platform. </li><li>Lead incident response efforts: triage, root cause analysis, and post-incident review. </li><li>Monitor application health using observability tooling (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk, CloudWatch) and proactively address performance issues. </li><li>Ensure high availability and resilience of payment processing flows including RTP and FedNow transactions. </li></ul>Technical Leadership &amp; Collaboration<ul><li>Serve as a technical point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders including DevOps, QA, product, and security teams. </li><li>Contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and agile ceremonies as a senior technical voice. </li><li>Document architecture decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures in Wiki. </li><li>Identify and advocate for technical improvements, debt reduction, and process maturity initiatives. </li></ul>What you bring<ul><li>5&#43; years of professional software engineering experience. </li><li>3&#43; years of hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot preferred) and Python in production environments.</li><li>Demonstrated experience building and operating applications on AWS — familiarity with core services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS, API Gateway, and IAM. </li><li>Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining  CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise or regulated environment. </li><li>Strong understanding of DevOps principles: automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and release management. </li><li>Experience with both front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks) and back-end development. </li><li>Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call production support rotation. </li><li>Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture. </li><li>Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with tools such as Jira. </li></ul>Added bonus if you have<ul><li>Experience with payment platforms, real-time payments (RTP), FedNow, or ISO 20022 messaging standards.</li><li>Familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-premises environments. </li><li>Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or CloudWatch.</li><li>AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification. </li><li>Working knowledge of change management practices and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow). </li><li>Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS). </li><li>Prior experience in financial services, banking, or fintech environments. </li></ul>What we offer you<ul><li>Opportunities to innovate in fintech.</li><li>Tools for personal and professional growth.</li><li>Inclusive and diverse work environment.</li><li>Resources to invest in your community.</li><li>Competitive salary and benefits.</li></ul> Privacy StatementFIS is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all personal information that we process in order to provide services to our clients.
