The Events team is responsible for developing and operating the SmartThings Cloud Event Pipeline – the nervous system of Samsung’s global IoT platform. Whenever one of millions of SmartThings devices – from light bulbs to smoke alarms to refrigerators – generates an event, the Event Pipeline is responsible for delivering it to mobile devices, internal systems and external integrations. That means globally processing hundreds of thousands of events, every second of every day. </div><div>In order to support our growing user base and provide exciting new functionality, the Events team is building new microservices, based on high-performance, scalable technologies.  <div><div>This position is a hybrid role, based onsite 3 days a week at our office in Minneapolis, MN.&nbsp; In this role, your primary responsibilities will include the following:&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Drive the execution and delivery of critical features within the Events team</li><li>Implement solutions to complicated globally distributed problems at massive scale</li><li>Participate in total ownership of the Event Pipeline, from design and development to testing and operational support</li><li>Provide highly reliable services with zero-down time</li><li>Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.</li><li>Contribute to technical design documents and architectural discussions for the Events team.</li></ul></div>
