The NFC, eSIM, SE, and Telephony team is looking for a highly technical Software Developer in Test (SDET) with excellent problem-solving skills to own and define the quality of core Apple technologies.</p><p>You will join the Kernels QA team, playing a technical role in ensuring the quality of Kernels that power features like Tap to Pay on iPhone. You will have the opportunity to architect and develop test solutions for a variety of critical projects within the broader Apple Pay ecosystem.</p><h3>Description</h3><p>As a Software Developer in Test, you will lead software development in test areas and be responsible for guaranteeing the quality of NFC/SE functionality on Apple's innovative devices. You will design and drive the overall test strategy for all stages of testing, from initial validation to final release.</p><p>As part of the team, you will design and implement sophisticated, scalable test-related software and automation frameworks built to validate complex kernel specifications. You will develop robust test benches, write corresponding in-depth test cases, and own the quality of kernel releases across various secure element platforms. Your work will involve partnering with development leads on architecture reviews, influencing design for testability, driving bug resolution cross functionally. You will deliver clear analysis of results to engineering DRIs and set the standard for high-quality bug reports. The ideal engineer for this role is a strong QA developer who is comfortable leading technical initiatives cross-functionally, participating in and encouraging healthy debate, and exploring an uncharted and rapidly evolving domain.</p><p>To succeed in this role, you must be an effective diplomat and a clear communicator, capable of distilling highly complex technical challenges into understandable solutions and architecturally sound test plans. Above all, you are passionate about shipping an NFC experience that is the best of its kind.</p><h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3><ul><li>5+ years of hands-on experience in a software development or SDET role with a proven progression of technical leadership and responsibility</li><li>Expert-level proficiency in Python, C/C++, and/or Java for architecting and developing scalable test frameworks and tooling</li><li>Deep expertise with SQA methodologies &amp; practices, version control systems (Git), and CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Proficiency in English. Machine Learning Software Engineer

Pursuing BS/MS in CS/CE/SE; software development experience; proficiency in C++, C#, Java, Python; Unix shell; ML libraries; Hadoop/Spark; SQL/NoSQL.

<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p>
<p>The Matrox software group is made up of experienced teams of about 5 developers each, creating products in Windows and Linux environments. We are looking for a motivated candidate with a passion for software development. The student is directly integrated within the development team and experiences the same working environment as senior developers. For the duration of the internship, work will be done either 100% on-location or in hybrid mode (50% on-location, 50% from home). It is often possible to extend the internship or come back later for a second internship.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>Software development will involve adding new features/functionalities to upcoming products or improve existing products by enhancing existing features or creating new ones. Work could include the following tasks, depending on your experience:</p>
<ul>
<li>Design and implement software components (command-and-control logic of embedded systems, user interface, support libraries, device drivers);</li>
<li>Code maintenance by investigating bugs in tandem with our quality assurance teams or from incident reports from our customers abroad;</li>
<li>Develop tests to validate your code;</li>
<li>Take part in code reviews at the team level;</li>
<li>Document the design and behaviour of your code;</li>
<li>Train the quality assurance team on the new functionality you added to the product.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree student in <strong>software engineering</strong>, <strong>computer engineering</strong>, <strong>computer science</strong> or <strong>electrical engineering</strong>;</li>
<li>Having completed a minimum of <strong>30 credits</strong> and a <strong>GPA</strong> equal to or greater than <strong>2.9/4.3</strong> or <strong>2.7/4.0</strong>;</li>
<li>Being efficient in at least one of the following programming langages: <strong>C++</strong>, <strong>C#, javascript</strong>, <strong>java</strong>;</li>
<li>Will be considered an asset :</li>
<ul>
<li>Being familiar with the associated <strong>debugging tools</strong>;</li>
<li>Being familiar with one of the following development environments:</li>
<ul>
<li><strong>MS-Windows</strong> (<strong>Visual Studio</strong>, <strong>VS Code</strong>)</li>
<li><strong>Linux</strong> (<strong>VS Code</strong>, <strong>GNU toolchain</strong>);</li>
</ul>
<li>Experience in the following areas: <strong>embedded systems</strong>, user interface design (<strong>Angular</strong>, <strong>WPF</strong>, <strong>GTK</strong>), network streaming protocols (ex. : <strong>RTP</strong>, <strong>RTSP</strong>), <strong>audio/video</strong> <strong>encode/decode</strong>, <strong>Windows/Linux device drivers</strong>;</li>
</ul>
