Job Summary
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of OpenEye Web Services (OWS) using a combination of technical proficiencies, organizational aptitude and interpersonal skills, as well as learning and progressing with evolving technology.
In this role, you will join a creative team using the latest and greatest in bleeding edge technology within the Cloud Video and Security space.
Role and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Independently develop and maintain software, including feature additions, modifications, complex bug fixes, and advanced unit tests.</li>
<li>Lead smaller development projects or individual features with minimal oversight, including scoping, prioritization, and delivery.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Product Management, stakeholders, and senior team members to design and deliver high-quality software solutions.</li>
<li>Interface with various departments and sometimes customers to acquire critical information and address complex use cases.</li>
<li>Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level developers on coding practices, algorithms, and processes.</li>
<li>Communicate tasks, ideas, and technical solutions clearly across teams, management, departments, and end-users.</li>
<li>Analyze and process input requirements from multiple sources to meet project goals effectively.</li>
<li>Review software code written by more junior developers to ensure adherence to company, departmental, and team standards.</li>
<li>Participate actively in Agile processes to identify bottlenecks and improve workflows.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

Job Summary&nbsp;
We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to take on a technical ownership role over OpenEye’s large-scale, cloud-based platform - the foundation on which our engineering team delivers features to customers worldwide.
In this role, you will be an architectural steward of our core cloud-based system:
<ul>
<li>Defining and implementing our technical roadmap to ensure the platform remains stable, scalable, and efficient for years to come.</li>
<li>Leading major feature or system initiatives from concept through delivery, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with business goals.</li>
<li>Planning and leading modernization efforts of legacy architectures - including migration from monoliths to microservices and adoption of cloud-native patterns -without disrupting ongoing product delivery.</li>
<li>Designing frameworks, services, and infrastructure that accelerate revenue-generating feature work by our product development teams.</li>
</ul>
You will collaborate closely with engineering leads, product managers, and operational teams to align long-term technical vision with evolving business needs, ensuring the continued success and adaptability of our cloud platform.
While you will regularly contribute directly to high-impact feature development, you will also focus on platform architecture, technical strategy, and cross-team enablement. As a cross-team enabler, you will help to shape our team’s long-term strategy and direction for AI by:

<li>Exceptional skill in designing new systems (and enhancing legacy systems) to ensure long-term stability, scalability, and maintainability</li>
<li>Strong experience in performance optimization, including profiling, tuning, and improving efficiency at scale</li>
<li>Significant exposure to "big data" challenges - designing systems capable of ingesting, processing, and storing massive volumes of data efficiently</li>
